Dental Inlays and Onlays

Dental inlays and onlays, also known as partial crowns, are an excellent solution for restoring teeth damaged by decay when a full crown is unnecessary. These restorations are custom-designed to replace the damaged or missing portions of a tooth, strengthening and protecting it while preserving as much of your natural tooth structure as possible. Inlays and onlays are a conservative treatment option, requiring minimal removal of your original tooth structure, and they are crafted to blend seamlessly with your natural tooth color for a durable and natural-looking result.

Difference Between Dental Inlays and Onlays

Inlays are used for more limited damage that does not extend to the cusps (the pointed areas on the chewing surface) of the tooth. Onlays, on the other hand, are recommended when the damage is more extensive and involves one or more of the cusps. Our skilled dentists will evaluate your teeth to determine whether an inlay or onlay is the best choice to restore your smile and oral health.

At Laurel Family Dental, we use advanced CEREC technology to create your custom inlay or onlay in just one visit. This cutting-edge system allows us to design, fabricate, and place your restoration within minutes, ensuring a precise fit and a quick, comfortable experience.
